LONDON/WASHINGTON [IFS] — Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, has reportedly left the United Kingdom as renewed scrutiny surrounds her past ties to Jeffrey Epstein following the release of newly unsealed emails by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The messages, made public as part of ongoing federal disclosures related to Epstein’s network, indicate that Ferguson remained in contact with Epstein years after his 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor. In multiple exchanges cited in the release, Ferguson is shown using warm and familiar language toward Epstein, including referring to him as a “legend,” and discussing financial matters.

Some of the emails also include personal references to Ferguson’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, raising further questions about the nature and duration of the relationship after Epstein’s criminal conviction.

There is no allegation in the released material that either Beatrice or Eugenie engaged in wrongdoing, and neither has been accused by U.S. or U.K. authorities. Ferguson herself has not been charged with any crime related to Epstein.

Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on the disclosures. Representatives for Ferguson have not responded publicly to requests for comment regarding the emails or her reported departure from the UK.

Epstein, a longtime financier with extensive social and political connections, died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. His associations with prominent figures continue to generate legal and political fallout as additional documents are released.

The Department of Justice has said the latest disclosures are part of a broader effort to increase transparency surrounding Epstein’s contacts and financial dealings.
